Your logo in the inbox

BIMI shows your logo next to your emails in Gmail, Apple Mail and Yahoo. It relies on a DNS record, a strict DMARC policy, a logo in a special SVG format and, for Gmail and Apple only, a paid certificate (optional). We check each piece.

BIMI selector (optional)

Almost everyone uses “default”. Leave empty if unsure.

The pieces, in order

  1. DMARC at quarantine or rejectThe longest step: every service that sends as you (newsletter, invoicing, forms) must pass SPF or DKIM first.
  2. A square SVG Tiny PS logoA simplified SVG with a title, no script and no external image, under 32 KB.
  3. The DNS recorddefault._bimi, with the logo address (and the certificate address, if you have one).
  4. A VMC or CMC certificate (optional)Paid, renewed every year: about US$650 to 1,500 a year (2026). Only Gmail and Apple Mail require it. The VMC also requires a registered trademark; the CMC, a logo used publicly for a year.

Questions

How long before the logo shows?

From a few days to a few weeks after everything is in place: each mailbox provider refreshes on its own schedule.

Is it worth it for a small organization?

The logo builds trust and makes phishing in your name easier to spot. The real benefit comes from the strict DMARC policy it requires.
