Is your server on a blacklist?

What to do if you are listed

  1. Find the cause firstA hacked website form, an infected computer, a stolen email password: removal is pointless if the problem keeps going.
  2. Request removalEach list has its own page (links in the report). Most remove an address within a day, some on their own after a few days.

Questions

Why is my website address checked?

Many small businesses send email from the same server as their website (contact forms, WordPress). If that address is listed, those messages are affected.

Should I pay for a fast removal?

Rarely. The lists that matter most (Spamhaus, Barracuda, SpamCop) remove addresses for free.

What is the reverse name (PTR)?

The name tied to an IP address, set by whoever owns it (your host). Receiving servers check that it exists and points back to the same address.
