Before you apply

  1. Gather your documentsLetters patent or certificate of incorporation, your CRA registration number if you are a charity, and the name and email of a person authorized to act for the organization.
  2. Use an address at your domainAn email like info@yourorganization.ca speeds up validation; a Gmail or Hotmail address often slows it down.
  3. Check your listing with the validatorGoogle, Canva and Zoom go through Goodstack; Slack, Adobe and many others through TechSoup. The name and address must match your official documents exactly.
  4. Put the renewals in a calendarMany programs ask you to confirm your eligibility every year. A missed email can mean an unexpected bill.

How to read “To check”

“Eligible” and “Not eligible” come from the provider's official page. “To check” means the page does not say clearly whether your type of organization qualifies (often: incorporated nonprofits that are not registered charities, and co-operatives), or that the answer depends on your mission. The only way to know is to apply, or to ask the provider. This page is information, not advice on your legal status.
