Share preview
When someone pastes your link in a post or a message, the network reads a few hidden tags to build the card. See what they show, and what to fix before you share.
The tags that matter
og:image
The image
1200 × 630 px, JPEG or WebP, under 300 KB. Keep text away from the edges: some networks crop.
og:title
The title
Written for people, not for Google: what will they get by clicking?
og:description
The description
One or two sentences. Facebook shows about two lines, Google about 155 characters.
After a change
Facebook, LinkedIn and messaging apps keep the preview in memory. Once your tags are fixed, paste the address into Facebook's Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn's Post Inspector to force them to read it again.
On WordPress, an SEO plugin (Yoast, Rank Math, SEOPress) writes these tags for you: set a default image in its settings and a specific one on important pages.
