Where does your visitors' data go?
Each font, video, map or statistics script loaded from another company's server receives at least your visitor's IP address and the page they are on. We list those services and locate their servers.
Why this list matters
When a page loads a font from Google or a video from YouTube, the visitor's browser connects directly to that company's server. That server sees the IP address, the page visited, the browser; some also set cookies or build profiles. It happens before anyone clicks anything.
01
Take stock
Is each service still useful? An old pixel or a forgotten plugin often keeps sending data for nothing.
02
Host locally
Fonts, icons and libraries can be served by your own site: faster, and one less third party.
03
Wait for consent
Analytics, ads and social plugins can load only after the visitor accepts, through your consent banner.
